  1. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." this meaningful quote has many many meanings to it in such a short and simple way. it was said by Mr. Paul Tournier. i think it means that it means if one keeps doing something perfect and winning every time, he is just going to assume that he is going to every time. also if you push yourself to succeed eventually you will without even having to try much. it takes years for someone to become perfect and something so dont give up. it will all be worth it someday and you won’t to think you arent good enough. but to me the best way to explain this quote is to never give up and push youself when you are at your toughest point, because one day everything will be worth it completely. this qoute honestly means something to me and inspires me that if i try hard now it will be worth it in the long run. expeacially for gymnastics. if i push my self everyday of every week to be the best gymnast i can be it will help me out the most in the furture. i can possibly go to college for it and continue enjoying the sport for my years spent there and i can possibly get money for it so i can go to school for cheeper then regular. plus i just get to experince meeting new people and doing a sport in college, when most cant. i wanna be able to tell my kids how i did gymnastics all throught pre-school, elementry school, intermident school, middle school, and high school, then eventually college! i just think that it will be so awesome to do this. that is what this qoute by the famous Paul Tournier “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." this meaningful quote has many many meanings to it in such a short and simple way.”

  2. Paul Tournier once said "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." What I think that this quote means is that some day someone will win. So now they think that they can win anything. Or what I also think that it means is that those who win, think that they can do a lot and win that also somehow. But my last idea on what this quote means is that if you keep on trying things over ad over again, eventually something will happen to and that is That you win. So really because you kept on doing it you new that if you did not stop something good would finally happen to you when you compete against or play against others you do or do not know. An example of someone is kind of like my brother. This is because we have a fighting/boxing game called Punch Out that goes on our Wii. So there is this big guy that he can not knock out in the beginning of the game and he could not beat him but one day he did and now thinks that he can beat all of them if he just keeps trying. This is what I think that Paul's quote means and an example of someone.

    1. I think nick's response was a good explanation on what Paul Tournier once said. He explained most of the reasons why that quote ment the way it did. I like the example of the punch out game. I had this quote relate to me the same way that he did. Overall, a really good response to this amazing quote!

  3. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier. I believe this quote is saying that the people who you see succeeding at things like sports are only winning because they believe that they can. If their belief in their abilities wasn’t present they wouldn't win. Believing in yourself gives you a boost to help you achieve things that otherwise would be just out of reach. For me this applies to Baseball. If I’m playing in a game and I’m up at bat if I keep saying “I’m going to strike out, I’m going to strike out” do you really expect me to do any good. Most likely I will strike out. But if I go up to the plate and I’m all amped up. I’m saying “I got this,I can do it.” I have a much better chance of hitting the ball. I can also apply this to track. Going into a race already expecting to lose means you probably will not be on your A game. This may cause you in the end to lose. Although if you go into the race ready to win then you have a better chance of winning. Another example of this is my friends little brother. He just started playing baseball. Although when he started he was behind he always practiced and had a “I can do it,” mentality. Now he is an outstanding player and he’s caught up to and in some cases surpassed the other children. If he was pessimistic about it and said he’d never caught up he wouldn't have. Also, he probably would have given up on baseball and never succeeded. But because he thought he could he did. This is what the quote " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." by Paul Tournier means to me.

    2. I think Eric did a good job on his response. I liked how he explained the quote in his way. I also liked how he talked about believing in yourself. I likes the example with his little brother and baseball which was well told. Over all I think he did a great job on this.

  4. Paul Tournier once said “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” I think this quote means that if you think you could win there is a chance of you winning. Most of the time when we win we believe that we can win and thats whats pushes us to do our best.if we think we are going to lose we most likely lose because we don't believe in ourselves. Winning is part of life because is pushes us to do our best. If that was taking away then we wouldn't know how to win. Thinking about winning is us winning inside. I think we all want to win but its our hearts that push us to win. When we lose its mostly because our hearts werent with it. we have to care about winning or losing and its hard to pick ourselves. maybe we should let our hearts pick for us once in awhile and really push what we got.this quote to me personally means that I have to put in the work to win and believe I can work hard. Working hard is apart of winning if I don't work hard I won't win because I don't deserve it.i don't have to prove anything but working hard and winning makes me feel better about myself. I would work everyday trying to get where I want my self to be. If I didn't like it why would I want to win. When I think about winning I think about putting my heart out on the line to prove that I earned it. For example one of my friends thought they couldnt do something. So i told them about not doing it for anybody but yourself. Who cares what people think as long as you try we have won. my friend went out to the court and played the best i have ever saw her play. after the game my friend came up to me and said they have won for her not for anyone else.

    3. I can't agree anymore than I already do with Sandy. She used such great examples.most of all I liked how you said the quote meant that if you think you could win there is a chance of you winning. Most of the time when we win we believe that we can win and thats whats pushes us to do our best. Sandy new what she was saying and said it straight forward. That's is why I liked Sandys passage, keep up the great work!

  5. Paul Tournier once said "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." What this quote means to me is that even though you may win almost all the time you still have to believe in yourselves enough to win. what this means to me personally is that you shouldn't ever doubt that you would lose and you should always stay positive in thought. This quote is all about belief, belief in yourself and others. An example of this from my life is when our school's football team went against the undefeated team of a different school. But even though they knew they might lose and that it was useless they still went out and tried and believed that they had at least the smallest chance. Sure we lost but winning is just one more thing that you can achieve in life and it is also just one more thing to believe in. You also need to put your heart and soul into winning or at least doing the best that you can in all that you do. One time I have experienced this was when I was training to run a marathon and also while I was running it. I wanted to give up so badly but I knew I couldn't and that I wouldn't. So i never gave up and in my training I was able to run it almost non-stop. I won but barely. I believed that I could win and I did I was ecstatic that I did it. But who cares that you win. It matters that you believed in yourself and that you tried. You should always try in everything that you do be it school or work, be it training for a marathon or just a simple work-out. Never forget to believe in yourself either and so I say always believe.

    1. I agree with Alex on everything he wrote. If you try and believe in yourself, you can do anything. You can accomplish anything. You can basically do anything. Always believe in yourself and great things will come. I think Alex's response was overall well written.

  6. "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier. I think he said this because by you having faith in your self you can accomplish a lot of things.it might nit happen all of sudden like everyone excepts things to happen but it will happen when u least aspect it. but by giving up before you are even giving a chance it wouldn't turn out as a good out put like you wanted it to happen. the best thing you can do if have faith believe and attempt to try and reach your goal or whatever it may be that you are trying to succeed at. I can relate this to myself in many ways in some ways this can relate to how I feel when we hade to take test. everyone in high school hates studying but you know if your note the type of student that can just remember thing s off the top of your head in like a min. then you need to study. but everyone hates to study including me. so I thought to myself how can u accomplish anything or pass a test if you don't prepare yourself for it weather you fail at the end or pass you can at least say you tried and eventually you will pass. believing that you can do something is the major thing into accomplishing that thing. just remember that by doubting yourself a lot of the time your not helping you chances of anything positive happing. its like you cant make a negative change to a positive unless you multiply it by a positive. Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier

  7. Paul Tournier once said,”sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can”. I think this quote means, once someone start to win or succeed at something at a constant rate, they’re going to be cocky and think they’re going to continue winning or succeeding. To me personally i think this quote also goes along the line to not be so cocky. Yes, it is good to be cocky but that can catch up to you and if you aren't good at what you're being cocky at it makes you look bad. I time in my life where i can relate to this quote like any other, is softball. In softball, we always vers a couple of teams who are cocky, but they suck at playing, but they somehow find a way to win. For example, I always vs. a team that wins a lot. Some of the girls are coordinated and good at the sport but others are just awful. Their team is known for winning every team they vs. Personally, i think my teammates and i shut down when we know a team always wins. But, we still go out there and play. And not always at our best. Everyone on my team has shed blood, sweat, and tears during training season to get better and win. But the teams we vs do sometimes the complete opposite and they still win. All in all, the point i'm trying to get across at is one game was a complete blow out. We beat them badly and they were cocky at the beginning of the game thinking they’re going to win but they didn't. In conclusion, Paul Tournier once said,”sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can”. This quote mean once someone starts to succeed or win they continue to think that they will. They get a little cocky about it and it can bite them right back in the butt.

  8. Paul Tournier once said "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." This quote means to me when you start doing something good in like itll boost your confidence. Also i think this goes for a lot of people exspecially athletes. Id say exspecially athletes because when your on a team playing a sport and start winning your confidence will start to build up and most likely your team will keep winning. I call that getting on a hot streak. Or this can even go for kids at school. Id say that if you are taking test and star getting A's youll keep it up and sooner or later youll make the honor roll. This whole quote is all about a persons confidence. Its saying if you win you start to believe you can which is your confidence. Without confidence you will not win or not think that you can. All in all i Think this quote affects every single person in the entire world no matter how old how young how small or how big.

  9. Paul Tournier once said that “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.”. I think this quote means that you should believe in yourself to set your goals. If you don’t believe in yourself, then how are you supposed to achieve your goals in life? If you have no effort to give and no push from yourself, how do you expect to do anything? You have to train hard in order for you to succeed, it doesn’t just come to you. If you want something, strive to get where you want to be, don’t just fall behind and hope something good comes out of it, because nothing will. You have to take action and put your best foot forward and do something about it. This has affected me in my life a lot of times. Whether it be in the past, right now writing this, or in the near future. No matter what it is I try as hard as I possibly can. Just like me being in MMA, I am not lazy about going to practice or skipping any days. I always go to every practice six days a week monday through saturday. I have been training hard my whole life with MMA and some other things too. But MMA is a sport that I believe that i can be the greatest at, and that strive and effort at my self gives me the push I need to go there. I know I can do anything I want to as long as I believe in my self. So, wrap it up, Paul Tournier, a very wise man showed us all that if we believe in ourselves, we can do anything we want to as long as we strive and push ourselves as hard as we have to to achieve them.

  10. Paul Tournier once said,”Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” I personally think this quote means people who keep winning at things think they can be good at everything. Then they get too cocky and mess up because they arent paying attention and lose for the team. Also sometimes they think they don't have to try because they are that good at that thing. But really i think this quote means that if you think you're good at everything you won't try hard enough and most likely fail. This quote like all the others can relate to my life. When we play volleyball in gym i think i'm the best at it then i get on the court and miss the ball . So one day i decided to remember i'm not that good at volleyball and i actually do better that way.My team was really happy with my improvement. This quote also relates to someone else i know.My brother thinks he can win evrything no matter what it is and when i tell him he won't win saying that he laughs. Then when we were playing frisbee football and i won he got mad.I told him thats what he gets for being so cocky.I watch him play sports and things like that and he gets so excited he messes up.I think that he would know to stop getting overhyper when playing sports because he won't pay attention. This quote is a good quote to follow when active because you know to stay active and do you're best no matter what.Paul has a good man and smart he knows what people are like and how they think.

  11. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." This is a great quote by Paul Tournier. I believe this quote means that if you believe you can do something, you can. If you believe you can beat the best volleyball team, you probably can. You have to believe in yourself or nothing will ever happen. Believing in yourself can take you farther than you can ever imagine. Personally, I believe I can do a lot more than I take myself for. I told myself I was horrible at math. I told myself I was never going to get to A Track. Then when New Years rolled around I made a New Years resolution. I wanted to get better at math. 8th grade year, instead of ending with a B. I got a 90 in math. I didn’t move up to A Track for 9th grade. This year I’ve had 100’s for the first 2 marking periods and I have a 100 right now. I’m going to move up to A Track for 10th grade. I believed in myself. That’s all I had to do and I realized I’m not horrible at math, I’ve just had bad experiences with math. When we were playing volleyball in gym, we played a really good team. The score was 16-0 when we finally got the ball for the first time. I told my team we can beat them if we try. We came back and won by a couple points. Everyone played their best. Everyone needs to believe in themselves just once a day. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. I believe this is a great quote by Albert Einstein. Everyone should read, listen to, and follow this quote by believing in themselves everyday of their life.

  12. Paul Tournier once said, " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." In my own words I believe this quote means that once you win a game I'm a sport or any thing in general you begin to have confidence and believe in yourself more. You begin to gradually trust your self to start to do more things and try a lot harder. Because once you try you can win more. This quote relates to me. This relates to me by when I was two I did dance until I was in fifth grade I stopped. I was really committed to dance until my dad made me choose between dance and cheer leading. And since I dance for all those years, I decided to do cheer leading. So the first year I was on the team we did not go to the next level. I decided to do it again the following year and we went to the next level but not the one competition after that. There for, the third year I cheered we made it to the next round and the next two after that. We finally won and went to Florida. It was one I the best days of my life and I'm great full. Now I know you should not ever give up because some time between the lines you will get to where you want. Now I know I can do anything I put my mind to because I over came that challenge.

  13. Paul Tournier once said that “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.”. I think this quote means that, you have to believe in yourself. I think it also means that if you believe in what you want and think you can accomplish it. This quote personally means to me that if I think that I'm going to have a bad day than 99% of the time, I'm going to have a bad day. Or, like if I believe that I'm going to have a great day and pass my test and all positive thoughts, then most likely my day would be positive and I would pass my test. An example from my life personally is school. I really don't believe in myself when it comes to science tests or quizzes. So, I normally do really bad or fail by ten or more possibly less sometimes. Another example from my life is if I think positive before a math test like I normally do because I feel good about it and thought It was easy I always pass. But, an example from someone else's life is I have a friend who is a dancer and a singer and she is a really positive thinker. So, she has a really good grades in school. But, it also helps when it comes to preforming he spends all afternoon practicing and weekends preforming all over town. She is a really good person and performer and it is all because of her positive thinking and hard work. But, of she spent her whole life believing all the negative things people told her, or she thought about herself she wouldn't be as positive as she is today. 14. Paul Tournier once said “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” This quote has a lot of meaning to it. To me this quote means that you should never give up on anything. The more practice you put into something the better the result will be in the end and you will be ready for anything. If you give up on something you will never know what your true potential will be or if you even like what you are doing. Not everyone succeeds in what they do in the first few days of it. It takes a lot of time and practice to perfect something. A good example would be something like football. When you first play you are not going to be that good. You need to play continuously and practice everyday in order to learn the plays better and learn better techniques for tackling or whatever you are doing and you especially need to be motivated even if you arn’t doing too good, you need to keep giving it your all every day. Motivation is the number 1 thing in everything you do or want to do. Without motivation there is no point. I have seen someone who can relate to this quote. When my friend first started playing football he wasnt too good at it but he still went to practice everyday and gave it his all and kept going hard. After a while he eventually got really good at it and made it to the varsity team. He still plays and still gives it his all every day and stays motivated. I think everyone should relate to this quote because it really means a lot, you should give everything your all and not give up on it because sooner or later your going to be very good at it and be proud of yourself and if you just give up and dont motivate yourself your going to be mad at yourself later on in life for giving up on what you really like.
