  1. Ghandi once said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I think this quote means that if you want to change the world, then change it the way you want it to be. Change the world the way you would like it to be changed. This could relate to our society because people say they wanna see a change in the world. Everyone talks about how they want the world to be like this or that. How they wanna see a change in the economy. Yet people don’t go out and do something about it. It’s like people say “if you want it done you got to do it yourself” and that’s entirely true. People should take matters into their own hands. They should go out and do what they have to do in order to change the world. Yeah that may seem difficult because many people don’t have the time but people need to take action into their own hands and do things in order to change the world and make it a better place like they say they want it to be. If you want the economy to be in better condition then do something about it instead of complaining. That’s why this quote is so relatable to society, because people want change and want to see the world change yet they don’t do anything to change it. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Go out and do something.

This quote means a lot to me. I change the world today without even realizing it. For example, I help clean up. I go to places and I clean up other peoples trash. Yeah sure I’m one person but for one person I help the world a lot by just picking up one thing and throwing it away. The way I wanna change the world is make it a cleaner place and I try my hardest to pick up everything and throw it away where it belongs. Like I said I may be one person but one person could totally change the world even if it means picking up trash. Maybe we should all do our part and try to change the world instead of complaining how bad it is.

    1. I think the same exact thing about Ghandi's quote. People say and complain they want a change in the world, but they dont do anything about it. It's also good that you clean places because you actually want to see and change, and you go and get it.

    2. I agree with Nick. People always complain on how the world is crappy but they don't do anything to help it. They are mostly making it worse by just sitting there and complaining. I think its good that you go out and clean up other peoples trash, because you care.

    3. I like Nick's blog the most. He interpret's the quote really well. I think so many people can sit there and complain about the world but they don't do anything about it. If people want to change our society, they need to take charge. A difference can be made, it just requires effort.

  2. A quote by Ghandi is, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This quote in general means a lot. I think the world needs to be changes in a lot of different ways. The way people treat the Earth, the way people treat animals, and the way people treat each other. I know that today there are being a lot of things done to change this, but if we are still trying, it must mean it’s not working. I don’t think a lot of people think they are doing anything wrong when they throw a gum wrapper on the street, or trash out the car window. But honestly, most of them just don’t care at all. This bothers me, and other people who care in the world, a lot. But me and other people, sitting here, complaining, obviously won’t do anything. So basically this quote just says if you want something so bad to change in the world, you have to be that person to start the change and join together with others to be the change.
This quote will probably be a quote i’ll always remember. I’d like to think one day, our Earth will be healthy, and animals will stop being abused like they’re nothing. Littering and animal abuse will never completely stop. There will always be that one, careless person somewhere in the world. But that doesn’t mean we can’t stop these things from decreasing. I think that Ghandi meant that if you see something in the world that should be changed for the better, it’s not going to change by you thinking about it or complaining about it.

    1. I agree with Collett. I think this world isn't going to change into a full on healthy happy world. Yeah there are gonna be people that abuse animals and treat Earth like it's nothing but I do think we as people could decrease this from happening. I agree with Collett 100% on this topic. It's true, we may not be able to completely stop it but we can sure be able to decrease it.

  3. Ghandi once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”.This quote can mean a lot of things. I think this quote means, the way you act will reflect the world around you. If you act good, good things in the world will happen. If you do something good and nice for someone. Something in the world might happen that affects me and my family in a positive and good way. Positive things you do will reflect on the world. If i act mature and pick up litter, something’s habitat won't get polluted. There is always a bad part though. If you are bad, things in the world will go bad. Another meaning to this quote is our world needs to change, and you can do that. By just helping out with one thing can go a long way. Riding your bike instead of driving a car, can help not pollute the air. People pollute all over the place. When people see the trash they just look at it and pass. Take a moment and throw it in the trash or the recycle bin. Most people think that the world will just change it self, people wonder why our towns are so dirty, get up and do something.
This quote means to me that everything you do will reflect the world around you. Treat people the way you want to be treated. If you treat someone like crap, people will start not to like you. They will consider you a bully. This is saying that treat people bad, and bad things will follow along with it. Also you always see celebrities on TV cleaning up beaches, if you could that it would help our environment be cleaner.

    3. I agree with mitch and what he said it seems justified and factual. He added a lot to what he thought the quote ment and he backed it up. He was able to explain why he believed the quotes meaning. His method to put into detail on why he believes it is well said and makes sense completely. Good job mitch and merry christmas everyone.

  4. Ghandi once said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I think this quote means that if you want things to change you should set an example for other people in order for them to do the same. What I mean by this is, if you don't like the way something is being learned or done do something about it. If you do something in a positive way you can change the world into doing better things. One small thing you do can lead you a far way, and i think that what Ghandi was trying to state in his famous quote. Everyone can take action in this quote. Nobody has to sit around waiting for an opportunity to knock on your door, it doesn't happen. You need to set an example and show people that what you're doing is creating a path into the right foot steps.
This quote can be related to me and other things i've seen a lot to my life. For instance, I just recently saw the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with my little cousin. At first the Grinch is a very mean beast that steals all the christmas decorations and presents. But, when he realizes hes done the wrong thing he brings everything back and all the children saw how truly sweet he really was. In the end the Grinch started a great change and saw how much the children honored and looked up to him. This movie most definitely reminded me of the quote by Ghandi.
Ghandi once said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This is a great quote that can be related to almost anyone and everyone in the world. I can see myself thinking about this quote in the future and i most certainly hope everybody else does.

    2. I agree with Alyssa. I like how she explained it, its very clearly explained. ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ is like the perfect example of this quote. I think Alyssa explained this quote simple but the best. I think the same thing Alyssa said about this quote.

  5. Ghandi once said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I think this quote means that if you wanna do something do it yourself because people are lazy this is the 20th century people are lazy including me but i shouldn't relay on other people to do things when if i want it done i will do it to the best of my ability and i have only me to blame no one else except me and i improve that and it makes me ab better person at life. If i ask my brother to take out the trash and he doesn't do it and does it sloppy and i should do it because i have no one to blame except my self so i don't have to blame anybody. Everybody should have some sort of drive to do their best at what they do. Because its only gonna do good and make our world a better place. Society should just do good and make people better. It means a lot to me because thats wise what he is saying and it makes you wanna commit to something that you favor or hate or wanna do better or just do it for yourself. Like in movies how the bad guy always looses his little posse and he is like "If you wanna do something do it yourself" he is right cause people cant read your mind no human being can so you might wanna it a certain way so go do it.

  6. What i think this quote means is that if you want the world to change and be better u have to act the way you want it to be. So in other words to onto others on which you want others to do to you. Ghandi was trying to change the world and he wanted people to know how you should be towards one and other. If you want someone to be nice to you then you be nice to someone else. Being nice to someone can make that persons day and maybe change the way they were going to end their day. Also some times if you are nice to someone they might pass it on to other people and a forever lasting chain of niceness will be spread around your area. I can relate this to my life because im always nice to everyone and people tell me it makes them feel better. People are always telling me that im to nice and nice guys finish last , but to me it doesnt matter because if i make someone smile its finishing in first for me. Making people smile is like making everyones day better to make it better i have to make them laugh. To make my day complete i have to make people laugh or smile. Just making people is the best feeling i can ever have. Even though someone people dont be nice to me, i dont let it bother me and i move on with the day. I just hope that if im done one day people will be nice to me.

  7. Ghandi once said, be the change you wish to see in the world." I think this quote means, if you want to change something go out and change it. Don't sit around and wait for something to happen. Because if you don't act now, the change you wish to see may never happen. This quote can relate to our society because everyone is all about change. Each and everyday there are changes. These changes don't just happen on their own. Fantastic and courageous people go out and make a difference to improve our world.
This quote can relate to my life tremendously. Since I was a little girl I was always told to never waste my food. I was told that somewhere around the world there is children that would do anything for the meal in front of me. Ever since then, I would wish for world hunger to end. So, what did I do? I went out and did something about it. In 2012 around the holidays, my church group and myself visited a place known as, "tent city". Tent city is located in Lakewood and is a homeless site. There are dozens of people living there that are currently homeless. We brought a bunch of food to give to the people. Not only did I do it to help out, but I did it to feel a sense of pride. Seeing the expressions on the people's faces was priceless. Their faces automatically lit up. They were filled with happiness. You could see how happy they were. I am the change I wish to see in the world. My major goal was to make a difference, and that's exactly what I did.

  8. Be the change you wish to see in the world, this was a quote by Ghandi. To me this quote means that you can change the world if you just put your mind to it. If you think there needs to be a change in the world, go out and change it. Don’t wait for someone else to because they might not. If you feel something can improve try your best to do it. So be the change just means to go and change it yourself. This quote is related to our society and everyday things people do because one person can help change the world just by doing simple things. For example, one person by just being nice to someone by complimenting them, or something, can make them feel good and maybe they will be nice to someone else and so on. So just by being nice to someone could start to change the world. Also, just by picking up just a single piece of trash can help change the world.
This quote can apply to many times in history, but one is Martin Luther King jr. He had a dream that he could change the world too, and he did. He, one person, changed the United States forever and because of him the world has changed greatly. Because of one person blacks are now free in he United States, which is a big change. But, what we can do doesn't have to be a drastic change like that, like I said before just try and be nice and if you see trash on the floor pick it up and you will be helping to change the world one step at a time.

  9. Gandhi once said,”Be the change you wish to see in the world.” The message spoken out by this quote is to be different from the world. I know that one little act of kindness can cause a big change to the world. When you’re different from the world, the world will see you as a weird person practically because you’re not like the rest. Changing the world is hard, but being the example to others will make you the change you wish to see. This quote can be related to our society and everyday things people do because if you do what everyone else does how will you be the change if you’re not different in a good way? For example if all your friends are smoking in front of you and and you don’t tell them you’re not okay with them doing that in front of you, then how will you be the change if you’re quiet about the injustice you’re seeing? Gandhi is saying that it all depends on you, the way you want people to think of you depends on you making that happen. For example, some people clean after themselves when they eat lunch whether at school or home, sometimes they clean after others, this can show a change to the world. Those people that do things differently from the world are the change and its starts out by little good deeds then to big changes. This is what I think this quote means.
This quote means to me that being different already makes you the change in this world. I once saw this movie called “Soul Surfer” and it’s a good example of this quote. This girl Bethany Hamilton was the best at surfing and she had won competitions. She got sponsered for a big competition that’s very popular and she was training and preparing with her best friend. Her youth group was going on a missionary trip to some country where a tsunami hit bad and the people needed help. She didn’t want to go because she thought training for surfing competition was much more important than the mission trip and she told her youth leader. Her youth leader was disappointed that she thought surfing was more important than helping out others who are in need. One day Bethany went with a couple of people to surf and her one arm got bitten off by a shark. She now had only one arm and it’s hard to surf with one arm because you use two arms for surfing. Bethany became the change in her community and then the world. People loved her because she was always so different in a good way by the way she treated people. Soon she got letters from all kinds of people from different states telling her how they take example from her. Of course she was hurt she couldn’t surf so easily but she wanted people to treat her the same as if she had two arms. Her family was upset about the shark attack but she made them hopeful by the way she acted so positive. She went on the mission trip and saw the poor conditions in the country after the tsunami. People in that country were afraid to surf because of the tsunami, so she took a surfboard and put in the water trying to show them that it’s okay to surf even though a tsunami hit recently. Those people took surfboards and began to go into the water, facing their fears. She became the change in the world because then people began to understand she wanted to be treated as if she had two arms and they saw how she was positive about it even though it was like a tragedy.

  10. Ghandi once said, "be the change you wish to see in the world". I think this quote is saying to make the world better by making your dreams come alive and invent or do something incredible. This can be related to many things in our society. For example, Steve Jobs thought of something revolutionary. A computer that was light, fast, and couldn't break easily. Now, everywhere you go, you can find them being used. They're part of the everyday life for businessmen, inventors, and many more. Also, Martin Luther King Jr. made his "I Have A Dream" speech to change the world by giving African Americans freedom. He wished to not see segregation, and he changed the world for doing that. He led civil rights movements in Alabama, and him and many others went to jail and boycotted certain things like stores and bus rides. After a while, they got the demands they wanted, and were free to do things they couldn't do before. This quote personally means a lot to me, and it should to others that have big ideas or invention that could be helpful and go a long way in the world. For a while now, I have been researching some things, and I plan on trying to invent something. If it becomes very successful, I could take that product and put it towards a company and sell many of them. Over time, I might be able to invent something else that could go along with it. If you try to change the world by inventing or creating a big idea, it just needs some support and you need to believe in it.

  11. *Be the change you wish to see in the world* This is a quote by Ghandi. To me, this quote means; If you want the world to be a better place, you need to do something to help make it that way. For example, if you see a homeless person on the side of the street and you walk pass him or her and think to yourself "I wish there weren't as many homeless people", and walk away. Nothing is resolved. And the way you want to see the world isn't going to change. But, if the next time you see a homeless person you give them money or food or clothes, etc. you're helping the problem a little bit and can help end homelessness. This can relate to our society because people always say they want to see different things in the world, but do absolutely nothing to help make the change.

This quote can be related to my life so much. Whenever I say I'm going to be on a diet, I say I'm going to do it and stick to it because I want to see change. But it never happens. I never stick to it. Even thought I want to see a change, I can't make the change happen because I'm to lazy. And that's what the problem is with today's generation. We're all way to lazy to do anything. The simplest thing, or task, we're all to lazy to do. I can't talk either because I'm to lazy to do so much stuff. And it's really bad, I used to always want to do my work and I was always excited for school, and now I'm not even excited. I'm not even motivated to do anything, I'm getting to lazy. To lazy to do anything.
