  1. The quote "Be the change you wish to see in the world." by Ghandi applies for everyday living. It means if you have a certain standards and belief and you want a change in the world to start that you have to start it. If you want the world to be an overall kinder place you have to start being kind. Society today is so obsorbed in things that really shouldn't matter. For example the way you look. Most people believe you have to look a certain way to be classified as "beautiful" If you want that opinion to change you have to be the change. Be true to yourself and don't settle for what people around you think. People are very quick to judge, especially in my past. I don't believe in people stereotyping people based on the way they look. So I don't do that to people.

    1. Amber really wrote a great response to this quote. She really described it well and told the reader hoe she feels about Ghandis quote. I enjoyed reading it because it was similar to how I felt when writing my response. All in all Amber really wrote a terrific response to the quote.

  2. The quote ''Be the change you wish to see in the world.'' by Ghandi makes alot of sense to many people including myself. It really means to me is the bad in the world or the bad of you change to make good in yourself or good in the world. What im trying to say is if you did something bad or you are bad just change yourself to be what you want the world to be. This quote means alot to me it actually affects me because sometimes I do bad or just stupid things, and I have actually used this quote for myself and changed myself to be what I'd want the world to be like. I dont believe people can't change themselves after sinning or doing something idiotic but I do believe everyone in the world can change. All in all the bad people can change in the world no matter what theyve done.

  3. The quote "Be the change you wish to see in the world" means a lot to me. This is because it is saying that if you want the world to be a much better place than it is now then you need to be nice and not bad all of the time. What it could also mean is that if you want the world to be a better place then help others like if someone falls because they get tipped because they are the meanest kid in the school they can turn into a better person because someone helped them for once. A good example from my life is like my brothers when I get mad at them for something that I can just totally ignore like nothing is happening. This is kind of a good example the movie After Earth because of the ending when the giant, monster is passing over Will Smith's son who plays as Kay. In otherwise this quote really does mean a lot and could to a lot of others on the world.

  4. " Be the change you wish to see in the world." This quote is written by Ghandi. I think this quote means it's up to me to change the world. We have to change to see what we expect of life. To help the world you have to take a step up. I live everyday to make a difference and to make the world a better place. I do admit I do things wrong but we change them and make ourselves better which makes the world a little bit better. Changing little things can make the biggest impact on the world. Our society helps a lot but we just don’t see it . they are as little as picking up trash. This quote means so many things to me because i have the power to change the world. No one can stop me because i am invincible and determined. For example, in this movie there was a guy who didnt get noticed and made a big change in his life and he became known for helping our earth . He literally traveled for 6 months around the world helping clean up garbage and helping animals back into the wild. He is very inspirational and helped people realize they can help to. It made me wanna start helping and my town has beach clean ups. I didn’t notice my town did these things until i started looking into it.This quote is very good because it can relate to some many things but also change peoples minds to start helping. But I can also say this is like one of my favorite quotes to help change the world. The world always needs improving because nothing is this world is perfect.

    2. I strongly agree with Sandy. One of the main resons why is because she said, "Changing little things can make the biggest impact on the world." That pience of your writing makes most sence with the quote. I think you explained greatly and new what you were talking about. Great job.

  5. Ghandi once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I think this quote means anyone can make a difference in changing the world, so why not it be you? I also think this quote means is that you can change the world, even if its picking up someone elses litter makes a difference. This can be related to our society by everyones capable of helping make the world a better place and there is groups who do community service when they spend an x amount of time picking up garbage on the side of the road or clean public bathrooms etc. This is related with everyday things people do because if you are walking home from school or work and you may see a piece of paper or garbage on the floor and you would pick it up and throw it away where it belongs, boom just did something meaningful in helping change the world. This quote means to me how people go to beaches and pick the unsafe garbage up at the beach, saving the planet and the animals. Also it means to me if you do not like how the world is like the crime, dirtiness, or even health try to do something about it and make change. All you need is one person to start something and can lead to bigger things. An example from my life that relates to this quote is that when i did cheerleading we did some community service and for 2 hours on a saturday morning, we picked up garbage on the side of the road. Another thing about me is that I have this exact quote on my door, meaning I agree with this quote. This quote relates to the book Romeo and Juliet by when they first met and fell in love at first sight they did not care that they were opposites, a Capulet and a Montague. They fell in love and got married anyway so that maybe doing this it would stop the feud that their two families were in. They died for eachothers love and left making a difference because the two families realized that they were fighting over stupid things and it was not worth it anymore and the feud ended.

  6. Ghandi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world". I think this quote means you have to start changing yourself if you want the world to change as well. In addition, I think that this quote means that we can change the world but, we all have to do something individually then work together. This quote can be related to society because people are always doing things good to change the world by influencing other people and doing it themselves. It can be as simple as planting more plants or carpooling. To me this quote means to actually change the world it has to start with you and then it will turn into a chain reaction and before you know it more and more people are doing things to improve our ways. I can relate this quote to my life because when I see trash just laying near a close trash can sometimes I will pick it up instead of that adding to more littering. In conclusion, we can do many things to change. Ghandi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world". I think this means that in order to change the world it has to start with ourselves.

    1. I agree with Elena on all that she wrote. We all need to take part in bettering the environment like picking up trash. If we want that to change, we must start ourselves. Once we do, we might change the world. We could make our environment cleaner just by picking up a little piece of trash everyday.

  7. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." What this quote means to me is that instead of complaining about how everybody needs to improve and get their crap together that they should get their own crap together and stop complaining. In today's society people get frustrated over having pickles on their McDonald's burger. The only thing is we are only human, so we are going to make some mistakes it doesn't matter because nobody is perfect but if you want some people to change let it be yourself. An example of this could be found in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. This series follows a boy named Greg who thinks the world revolves around him and that every one else makes mistakes and not him. Although he does learn some valuable lessons in his misadventures. Another example of this quote can be found in my life too. When I was a younger child around the age of 9 or 8 I always thought that I was correct and that others were wrong and needed to change. This was my mentality back then, but today looking back I realize that I was wrong and that I needed to change my own ways and not criticize people so much. I even thought when I was younger that I was wrong on the test but that the teachers just had the wrong information, spelling and grammar. Now I look to my younger self and think about how much I had changed since then and how stupid I use to be. Although this is the best quote to guide someone into being a new person. Instead of wishing people were better drivers or that your teacher needs to learn to read proper English think to yourself "wait a second maybe it is just my mistakes?"

    1. I really enjoyed Alex’s response for Gandhi’s quote. His full work shows how well rounded he is with the subject. He perfectly depicts the quote to real life, his life, and even a book. He depicts this quote’s meaning to show his own experiences. I loved Alex’s comment on Gandhi’s quote.

  8. Ghandi once said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I think this quote means that if you want something to change, you have to make the change. If you want something to happen, you have to make it happen. You have to want it to happen. I also think it means if you want something to change dramatically, you have to stop what’s going on now and make it better. Everyday people want things to change in the world. We have to be the ones to make it change. The kids decide the future. Pollution is a great example for something that needs to be changed now. So much pollution is being put into the air from factories and the cars we use. Manufacturers need to make new cars that don’t put a lot of pollution in the air. Factories need to stop putting pollution into the air. We need to stop them from putting pollution in the air. It’s very bad for our environment and helps cause the Greenhouse effect which helps cause Global Warming. So, we need to stop the amount of pollution going into the air. This quote can relate to my life because I wanted to change the way we recycled. My family didn’t recycle paper. When I was cleaning out my binders at the end of the school year last year, I ask them if we could recycle the paper. We figured out that we could and now we recycle all the old news papers. I feel that by doing this, we have made a difference in the world around us. People could see us recycling paper and follow in our example or less trees could be cut down each year just by recycling paper. So, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” It could go a long way.

    1. I think this quote " Be the change that you wish to see in the world" by ghandi is a very good quote . It means to me that if u have or want any changes to happen In the world you have to start by making the changes with yourself. If you just keep saying you want you want but dont, make a difference by starting with yourself its not going to change at all. If you give someone advice but then they see you doing the opposite there not going to respect you or do what u tell them or ever ask u for advice again. I think you have to start with yourself and make your up if gour gonna want a change in life. Alot of people say they want change but dont do anything about it just talk.I know I want alot to change but I dont say anything because I know im not going to be able to start with myself so I often keep to myself. Alot of people should do the same . I just think this quote should be applied to everyone because everyone is not perfect and everyone shouldn't think are. The world can only be changed if u can change yourself and u have to push and try hard everyday .we cant change the worl we live in inless we change ourselves and make a difference with the people around us. Any little thing can help and it will. You have to try and succeed at the greater things in the world and slowly by shortly it can and will be changed .The world would be an okay place if everyone would start by chamging yourself and try to help others out as well thats all we can do as humans on this earth.

I think this quote means that make changes yourself in the world don't wait for other ppl to change the world for you.this relates to our society because ppl wait for others to change the world when if they want it changed they should just start to change it themselves. This quote relates to my life because my friend doesn't like her family but, she doesn't try explaining to them that they need to change or why. This means that i need to chcange the world not wait 4 others to.

  10. Gandhi, an amazing man with some amazing talents once said that “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”. Gandhi was a very wise man that did some very amazing things. He inspired millions upon millions. What I think he means by this is that people always see things they don’t like. they constantly hate things that are happening on this earth, but, no one does anything about it. They usually won’t put their own foot first and start a trend to stop what they don't like. It’s laidback people that put in no effort to stop things that hate a lot of things. But people like Gandhi worked so hard and put so much effort in their life to where he needed to be or where he wanted to be. But sometimes, many people will put great effort into what needs to be done and it actually happens. Some organizations or communities were started by certain people that wanted change or something to happen. Maybe even for the purpose of because they wanted to. Either way, if you put your effort into something, more than likely, it will change into the thing that you want it to. For example, A certain man wanted change in Haiti after the earthquake, so He decided to make a change towards it. There was a project online where people could donate money to the cause to help the Haiti Citizens. The project raised more than seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Three quarter of a million. That money was put towrads Haiti to help them. So, if you want change, make it happen.
