  1. "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."- Henry Ford. I think this quote means, sometimes failure is okay. When you fail, it teaches you a lesson. That lesson sets you up for future choices. The future choices you make after you have failed show where you've made improvements. After you have failed, it doesn't mean you should give up. It means you should try again, but while trying again, you should try harder than ever before.
This experience relates to everyone's lives, including mine. Last year, in the middle of the year I had a huge chapter test for World History. Being the careless student I once was, I rarely studied. Before the day of the test, I figured I could wing it and still pass. I THOUGHT I knew exactly what I was doing. I was so wrong. When my teacher was passing out the tests, he said we could begin right away. As soon as I looked at the test, I was in complete shock. I didn't know the answers to honestly anything on that test. I remember thinking to myself during that test that the outcome of this wouldn't be any good. The next day, I had received my score. Let's just say, I failed poorly. In a way, I see my failure being a good thing. Not only do I study for every single quiz and test I have, but I am now a better student. I'm not careless. School, to me, comes first now. My goal this year is to maintain an A+ average. I've been doing great so far and I'm extremely excited to see my progress throughout the year. I agree 100% with Henry Ford and his inspiring quote.

    1. I agree with Christina! She tells us the perfect way to relate to the quote. Also how to explain it! I think she has a great relation to the quote. Even though none of us have probably ever heard this quote before, we could apply it to our lives very easily.

  2. Henry Ford once said,”Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” To me this quote means that although we make mistakes in life, we learn from them and correct them. Every failure, we can learn from it and be smarter next time but we can’t go back and redo it. Each time I make a mistake I tell myself that next time I’ll be ready not to make it again. Our mistakes may leave scars in our hearts but next time we know we’ll be so much stronger than our failures and we’ll endure from it. Before you fail again, you can stand up to your fear of failing and end up succeeding. This quote can relate to an experience in my own life when I joined track in eighth grade. That year when I first joined track, I always felt like I was going to fail at the meets we had against other schools. Every time I doubted myself in every competition against other people, I failed because I wasn’t getting the results I wanted. Although there was fast people I was competing against, I knew it didn’t mean that I didn’t have to try anymore, I just didn’t have confidence in myself and therefore I failed. Once, I competed in one of the meets we had and I decided to only finish the race I was running in, instead of completely having no confidence in myself. Turns out when I competed I only looked ahead to the end of the race and did not turn left nor right when I was running to the finish line. After I was done with that race, I really liked the results that I got. My failures in the races encouraged me to be smarter the next race by not thinking I’m going to fail. This experience relates to the quote and has taught me that life is like a race, you do not doubt yourself in living it or you’ll fail yourself, if you do fail you just be smarter and stronger next time and you’ll end up succeeding in this race called life.

    1. I liked what you said about this quote and I agree with you. You said although we make mistakes in life we learn from them and correct them. I also liked how you related it to your life when you did track. You also said life is like a race and I liked how you tied everything together at the end. I agree that life is like a race.

  3. Henry Ford once said “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." What I think this quote means is that when you do bad at something, you will always have the opportunity to try again but this time you know what’s expected and you try again but this time you know what to do and what not to do. You will have a better chance at succeeding in whatever you did the next time if you screwed up the first time. Cause you learn from your mistakes and you know what is expected later on. Failure is okay because you learn from them and it teaches you a lesson sometimes. This quote is entirely true and you can relate this quote to anything in life.

Last year I really didn’t like school and hardly ever study at all. One day last year I had a big test that was coming up. The week before we were told about it and during the week until the test, I never studied a single thing. I took the test thinking I would know it like always and I would pass again like I always do. I was wrong. I failed horribly and to be honest it taught me something. When I found out my grade on that test, it taught me that studying really does help no matter how boring and stupid it may be. Failing that test helped me a lot cause later on I got good grades in that class and I studied a lot. Ya maybe I would fail once or twice here or there but in all, studying helped. I got better grades than before and it made me feel good about myself. Henry Ford is right, failure is an opportunity to try again but this time more intelligently.

    1. I like the way you related this to your life. Honestly i think everyone does or did fail a test once because they didnt study. And also, you didnt say oh i failed once and now i know to study all the time and i never failed again. You actually stated that you do fail every once in a while. And im pretty sure most people do.

  4. Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think by saying this he meant that in life there will be times that you will fall and make mistakes. But don't just give up, learn from your mistakes and start over if you need to. Don't just do something your not suppost to and learn nothing from it and then do it again. If you fail at something just start over but be smarter the next time.
This quote can also relate to an expirence in my life. Once I had a quiz and I thought I knew the stuff on it. I ended up not studying for it. When I took it I started to realize I didn't know it as we'll as I thought I did. So, when I got it back I was upset because I had gotten a bad grade on it. So, now I make sure I study even when I think I know it. This relates to the quote because the first quiz I took was like my failure. All my next quizzes and tests are my opportunity to begin angain but more intelligently which is me studying next time. So I'm not just going to give up and stop studying, I am going to learn from my mistake. So that's how this quote relates to my life.

    1. I agree with what you said about making a mistake or failure and starting over and being smarter the next time instead of not learning anything from your failure and doing it again. I think that's very important if you make a mistake and you make sure you don't do it again. I like your example about studying for quizzes. I have done that before where I thought I didn't need to study for a quiz and turns out when I didn't study, I ended up with a grade I didn't like. I agree with your comment about this quote!

  5. Henry Ford once said “Failure is a simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” What I personal think this means is that if I ever failed at something, I shouldn’t just give up. I should try even harder the next time going in. The next time I try I will be smarter about what I’m doing. Based on the knowledge I have learned from my prier try. Ford wanted the reader to relate to this quote. Unlike some quotes, this one anyone and everyone will relate to this quote sometime in their live. I could live by this quote every day. This is by far my favorite quote.

This could relate to me in a lot of ways. One experience was when I tried out for my first travel softball team. I was eight years old and the rest of the girls were ten. I remember very little. The most I remember is being so nervous! I practiced so much with my dad I knew I had it in the bag! But when I tried out I didn’t really know what the coaches were looking for. So the first tryout I didn’t do very well. But after, I realized what the coaches wanted and I picked up from my fail and start fresh. Like nothing every happened. It turned out I made the team! This quote is reminding me what I went through. It applied to me so many more times after. I’m glad to say this quote could stay with me the rest of my life.

  6. Henry Ford once said, "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently". I think this quote means to learn from mistakes and when you learn from your mistakes, you should use the knowledge more wisely to get it done. For example, Henry Ford designed the car almost as far back as 1880s, and ever since then, car companies like Ford have been becoming much smarter with fixing flaws and mistakes on their cars. Also, this can relate to many experiences in my life because I have learned from many mistakes over time. For example, over time I have learned that the oils in your hands can actually tarnish up the brass on an instrument you play. I have learned from this by playing the trumpet with gloves on so that doesn’t happen. Also, I have learned over time that Ms. Bocchino wants us to have larger blogs every week. I have learned from that by making nice long blogs. I think this quote by Henry Ford gives a lot of meaning and can relate a lot to life. If everyone out there could recover from many mistakes, the world could really be a great place. And for the world to be a better place, all you have to do is try. Try to fix mistakes so the mistakes don’t fix you, if you know what I mean, not in a bad way.

  7. Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." To me, this quote is one of the most truthful quotes I’ve read before. I think this means that when you fail something, or even just mess something up, you will always have the opportunity to try again. And it’s not just to try again and fail again. What it means is that you will have the chance to try again, and know what to expect, and to be prepared for it. But actually, sometimes you don’t have that chance to try again. Like those concert tickets you didn’t win on the radio, or that test you failed. Though, you will eventually come to a similar situation in your life, and you will know what to do then.

This quote relates to me in a lot of different ways. Yes, one time i have failed a test, then reminded myself to study for it next time. But theres other things too. I have had friendships that didn’t last. My childhood best friend moved just a town away, and even though we still consider each other as best friends, it’s not really the same. I have made a lot of new friends this year. So in the way that I begin again, in a new school, I can try my best to keep the friends I’ve made!

    1. I agree with what Collett said. You can definitely try something again if you fail at it. Don't always think of something as a failure though, think of it as a correction to what you should have done to succeed. I also liked the way you related it to your life. Overall, I think it's good.

    2. I agree with what Collett has written. She touched upon a few great points while explaining what the quote means to her. Not only was her comment descriptive, it was very well planned out. It made perfect sense, and was a great response.

  8. Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this quote means that when you fail you shouldn’t just never try again, now you know what you need to do to succeed . If you don’t make a sport team don’t think you can never be good at it again. Get yourself another tryout for another team and prove to yourself you can do it. If you fail at something the first time. There will always be a second time and now you know what is expected and your chances are higher than before of succeeding. This quote quote “losing is learning, winning is teaching,” can relate to this. When you lose you have something that you need to learn so next time you succeed. When you win you’ve been taught something from you failure to succeed and win. This is what I think the quote means.
The first time my baseball team transferred from the small to big field we never one a game. Its like going from a little league field to playing at Yankee Stadium. That first season we went 0 and 11. We did not win one game that year. But we learned from our mistakes and practiced and next season we started winning. That season we ended up coming in third place in our league. We didn’t split it up after winning zero games, we didn't stop playing baseball at all. That gave us the motivation to do better.

    1. I think Mitch is right and i believe everything he said is true. For example, he justified the meaning of the quote. Also, he defined it in his own words. In addition mitch, have prime examples of other meanings of the quote. In the end everything mitch said is what i would have said.

  9. What i think this quote means is that when you fail at something you learn from it and this time you wont make that same mistake. When you fail something ,you get let down and when you get let down you dont think you can accomplish anything after that. Anther quote that matches with his is when you get knocked down just get back up. To add on there is a quote that state. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. In life you cant let things get you down because you will become insecure about messing something up again. But we are humans and we learn from our mistakes. So for us to be semi perfect we have to mess up alot. Noone can be perfect but you can be great, some people say that they wanna be a good man but i wanna be a great one. But i have to learn to become that man that i see in my future. Since im a kid i mess up alot and i learned alot and im growing slowly but i still have alot to do and alot of things to mess up on. Without mistakes in life we wouldnt be able to aprove on things. We make adjustments by learning our true selves.

    1. I agree with Joe and I like what he said about how he is a kid and he still has mistakes to make. Just cause you have one mistake and you fixed it doesnt mean you won't have any in the future. We all make mistakes whether we like it or not. And were all not perfect either.

    2. i agree with Joe, he used very good detail on what the quote means. I like the way he used another quote to explain his reasoning even more.Life without mistakes would be boring, we would have nothing to do to prove ourselves

  10. Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity t0 begin again, this time more intelligently." What this quote means to me is, whenever you fail at something you do, it doesn't mean give up. It means try it again because this time, you won’t make as many mistakes! This quote means soo much to me, but the one thing that stands out to me is when it states: Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again. When I first read that it made me think back to last year. Last year while I was doing track, I ran. And when I was running in a meet for the first time, I got last place. I was very upset, so my natural instinct was to be upset and disappointed. After that race, my coach saw I was really upset so she came to talk to me. When she spoke to me, she said this exact quote, and it made me go home and want to actually practice for the next meet so I made sure I did better then the last meet! When the day came for the next meet, I was so ready to get it over with, and as soon as the guy blew the gun, I took off. And sooner than later, I got second place! Then the next race I got first!! But the moral to this for me, is never give up. Because after every mistake, you can only get better. And the only way you get better is by learning from your mistakes.

    1. I agree with what lex said in this. You should never give up on something just because you fail once. You should learn from your mistakes and become better at whatever you we doing. We need failure to improve ourselves and become smarter people.

  11. Henry Ford once said , “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” To me, I think this quote means that every failure will get you closer to succeeding. You won’t always win on your first try. That is why you have to try, and try, and try again. Don’t ever stop trying until you succeed. Each time you lose, you become a little smaller. You learn from your mistakes and you know what not to do again. It’s almost like performing a scientific experiment to form a theory. When you experiment, you have to keep trying after making mistakes to see new outcomes of the situation. When you fail, you have the option to go ahead and keep trying, you don’t have to give up. If you have the willpower, you can succeed anything.

This quote can definitely relate to experiences I have had before. One of which being a talent. I’ve always loved drawing. But, just like everyone else, I started with very little experience and talent. Especially when using software. When I finally did somewhat learn how to use certain programs , it only became more and more confusing. But, because I really wanted to learn how to use the programs, such as Paint Tool sai and Photoshop, I kept trying. I taught myself with each mistake I made. I tried using different brushes and textures and patterns. I watched tutorials and I asked for help and advice. Eventually I got to the level I’m on today. I still have to learn, But I’m ready for the opportunity to try again , More intelligently.

  12. Failure is not an option it is but it is just an opportunity. The great Henry Ford once stated, "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." This quote means that you learn from the mistakes you make and they make you a better person. Also you should look at the good side of every failure and realize that you can learn something from it. No matter what anyone sais you can always learn from your mistakes. This quote also means every failure make you a little bit closer to succeding each time. You shouldnt just give up when you are failing at something, you have to press on and push through.
I can relate to this quote in many ways. I fail all the time in lots of different things. I fail to play a song write, I fail to get an answer right on a quiz, I fail to march right in marching band. People fail all the time but that doesnt mean to give up on everything. It means the opposite, to learn from your mistakes and move on. The first year I tried out for state band I didnt make it because I didnt practice enough. This year I am already practicing even though it is months away. My failure the first time around made me wiser now.

  13. A great man by the name of Henry Ford once said “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.". What this means to me is that if you fail you can start to prepare better for the next time you face this challenge. This has appeared many times in my life. Like when I tried out for the baseball team in seventh grade. I failed, I was so mad at myself. But then I realized that I could make it in eighth grade. I would just have to train harder for me to achieve this goal. So all through baseball season I trained, for three to four hours a day. Even went to a baseball camp during the summer time to get even better at baseball. I even got hurt from training to much. That set me back, but that even pushed me more to try harder. So finally the week had come for tryouts. I was so nervous, I would be so embarrassed if I didn't make the team after all that practice. But it turns out I did really good and got onto the team. I did so good that I even got to start for a lot of games. Towards the end of the season I got hurt but it all was worth it in the end. I felt so good about myself for making the team. So that quote means a lot to me, because it applies to me a lot in life. So thats what I think that quote means and how it applies to me.
