Henry Ford once said "Failure is simpley the opportunity t begin again, this time more intelligently."
*That do you think this quote means?
*How does it relate to an experience in your own life?
Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this quote means the failure is kind of like a wake up call.
ReplyDeleteBy you failing that gives you the opportunity to start over again and to prove to yourself and other people are capable of doing anything you set your mind to. For example, let's say a kid got a 56% on his test for history class. His teacher and parents are disappointed in him because, he has the potential to be a A student but he's too lazy to study. So to prove he's is not lazy and irresponsible, he studies extra hard for his next test and he passes. This is like the quote because he started again and he was smart and knew he had to study to prove he is an intelligent student and not a irresponsible, lazy one. I can relate to this quote because in my Algebra class I got a bad grade on my quiz. I was disappointed and so was my parents and algebra teacher. They know I'm capable of getting a better grade but, I didn't study the material hard enough like I should have. So when time came around for my chapter 1 and 2 test I got a really good grade. They were all so proud me and I was proud of myself also. So the first time I failed and that was a wake up call for me to start again and be more smart of what I have to succeed next time around. In conclusion, Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think that this is a very good quote and everyone call apply it to their life too.
i agree with elenas statement because she restates the qoute and answers fully. i think that when she gave an example of a kid failing a history test she gave a good example of failing but simply not giving up.also when she gave an example that related to her life it hit me that the same thing can happen to anyone but they can still work hard and not give up.I agree fully with elenas comment.
Deletei agree with elena because she does a really good job explaining the quote and her example is relly convincing.
DeleteI agree with Elana greatly. She gave a great example as well. By when she was talking about how if you fail a test and people think it was because you are to lazy to study but then you prove them wrong by passing the next test. Also I like how you said that the quote is a wake up call. Once you fail at something it makes you realize that you shouldn't give up and you could do better.
DeleteHenry Ford once said " Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this quote means that if you fail once you learn from your mistakes. Failure is apart of life and so is second chances. We learn from our mistakes to improve on what we did wrong. Being smarter the second time makes you think " why didn't i do this in the first place." We don't do it in the first place because we don't think hard enough until we get it wrong. We fail because we don't think through it all the way. "Life is about falling but the hardest part is getting back up and trying again and again till we get it right." I can relate to the first quote because I fail at a lot of things but I don't get better unless I try harder. If I try harder I get better and then succeed. I have learned that failing is apart of life because if we never fail we never learn. I go to school to learn not to just sit there for fun. I fail quizzes or tests and then I retake them and this time I do better because I put more effort into studying for it. I probably make more mistakes than not because I am a human being I make mistakes and I know next time to do better. But this quote to me is like a life lesson because it makes me think about doing something so I do it right rather than do it two to three times wrong.
ReplyDeleteIn Sandy's response too henry fords quote I thought she really went into detail and described the topic well. I really liked her response it was very well written and she simply nailed it. I particularly like when she stated I make more mistakes because I'm a human being. This part in her writing really dwells on everyone's life since everyone has failure and mainly learns from it. All in all I think sandy really did well and wrote her response spot on.
DeleteHenry Ford once said " failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think thee quote means too stay in school and not fail in life. This is very inspirational too many people. Some kids in school make poor decisions that last them a lifetime. So once you fail in something it can last them a very long time it could even last some people a lifetime. But what henry ford is saying in this quote is when you fail you have a new opportunity to start over, or if you made a mistake and failed you can later on in the future fix that mistake you made and begin something new. This quote really does relate too my life in many ways. In the past I've made mistakes not studying a test for math. Since I study I got a 59 on the test. This grade brought my grade down tremendously. But like what the quote says when you fail something it gives you a new beginning. So on the next test I learned to study from my failure and I got a 92. This is why this quote affects me dramatically. All in all this quote really does make perfect sense. It involves me in many ways and it really does involve others with just simply not studying on a test and learning you will not succeed without failure in life.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Stephen especially when he talks about how the quote relates to us in school. i like when he says " in this quote is when you fail you have a new opportunity to start over" because you really do get a chance to start over but that's only if you take that chance. i also like when he related the quote to him and math because ik a lot of people who just give up and don't try. so I would have to agree on his ideal thought of what this quote means to him.
DeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." What I think that this quote means is that if you fail something like in the show Minute to Win It try it over again but be smarter on how you think it through. It could also mean that if you fail something don't think that because you failed it you can not do it all over again but this time make sure that you know on what you're are going to do or on how to to fix that failure with a better sense of intelligence. This quote relates to my life because when I got failing grades on silly notebook quizzes in the middle school because my papers were never in order like they were supposed to be. But then after another notebook quiz I had gotten a really good grade because I had used my head and put all of my papers in the right order like they were supposed to be in the first place. This is what I think that Henry Ford's quote means and what it could mean me and others also
ReplyDeletei agree completely with nicks statements. Also i like the fact he used statements and illustrations from his life to help you better distinguish the quotes meaning. He emphasizes that if you fail at something do it again but be smarter about it. I fully agree with what nick has said in this paragraph.
DeleteI agree with nick's statements. He did a great job explaining them. His examples were great and I like how he made a statement about how you should always try harder. His paragraph was bery well put together.
DeleteHenry Ford once said,” Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again this time more intelligently” i think that this qoute means that if you fail its ok you will be able to try again and do better. For example this kid in a science class always was late and failed all his tests. His parents finally found out and they were very upset with him. They thought that he needs to start working harder or get in more trouble. So he told his mom and dad that hell try harder. Thats exactly what he did and he started being on time and studying. After a couple of weeks the kids parents got a call from the school and they told the parents he was passing all the tests and quizes. So the parents decided to reward him for being so much better. This quote relates to my life also in a sense.. Last year in pre-algebra my teacher gave us theses things called notebooks. We would put down the review questions from the book and answer them. Well i didn't do good on the two first parts. Then my mom told me to study the questions and reread them until i understand them. Wheen i started to do that i got passing grades on them. So yes i failed but it gave me another chance to correct myself. Once again Henry Ford once said,”failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”This quote can be useful to mistaken kids so they don't feel that they are bad kids.
ReplyDeleteI agree with bridget I think she has a lot of great examples in her writing and she said on topic the whole time. Also, I think all of her examples are very well explained.
DeleteHenry Ford said “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” I think that this quote means you should learn from your mistakes and try harder the next time. You should correct the mistake you make so you won’t make the same mistake again. You shouldn’t just push away the mistakes you make because you can always make the same mistake again. You need to learn from it and try harder the next time around. I can relate this quote to my life in some ways. I am not so good at math and when I make a mistake on a paper we are reviewing, I correct what I do. I erase my previous problem and then write how it should be done. On the next math quiz, I did really well. I corrected the mistakes I made before and made sure I didn’t do the same thing again. I never did that before in math. I would just push off the mistakes I made and wouldn’t care. In 8th grade I started realizing I needed to learn from the mistakes. I had to correct what I did wrong in order to not make the mistake again. I didn’t do so well on a math test that we just took. When we go over it in class, I’m going to correct all the problems I did wrong. I will make sure I understand the problem too. I think a lot of people should listen to and follow this quote by Henry Ford.
ReplyDeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I believe this quote means that if you fail at something you should not give up. Once you fail you should try again because you have that new opportunity to do so. This quote relates to me. I used to cheer for AYC and we always tried our hardest. We didn't give up when we didn't make it to Florida. The next season we practiced even harder, more days and longer hours. Therefore when we were at Regionals we prayed that we would make it to nationals. We thought to ourselves that we practiced hours and days we worked hard for where we got to for just 2 minutes on the mat that would determine everything. As they started to announce winners we held each others hands and when the speaker said " and finally what we all been waiting for 1st place goes to the Berkeley Eagles!!!!" We jumped up and screamed with joy. We knew we deserved it. That quote related to me by we didn't give up when we didn't make it the first time but we had the opportunity to again next year so we took advantage and we did it. That is why when you fail at something you should never give up because once you do you miss what could have been something great.
ReplyDeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this quote means if you fail at something you learn. When the next time comes, then you will remember and succeed. For example, Iif you take a test and you get a 63% on it, than you will know when the next test comes that you will get a better grade with more intelligently. Another example that relates more to me is, If i am playing Call of Duty and if my team doesn't win this round, then we will learn and have more intelligently next round. So what I learned is that we didn’t do a good job so I learned and the next match i won! Last, week I had to use this quote when i hurt my wrist scootering and I learned when I do that particular trick I did, always be smart on what you're doing when you're doing. In the quote he also talks about being intelligently. This does not mean you have to be smart to pass the test or what ever you are doing. As long as you try and focus on what your trying to achieve, you are sure to do better than the last test. To sum it all up I think Henry Ford was trying to teach us a life lesson and a lesson to help us anywhere any time.
ReplyDeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this quote means if you mess up once then you have the opportunity to try again and learn from what you did. when you mess up on something is doesn't mean that you shouldn't try again, it simply means that you have another chance to improve the things you messed up the first time. like if your doing homework and you get the answer wrong then you have the chance to realize what your mistake was and fix it before you take a quiz on it so by correcting your mistake you improve your knowledge on that subject. not everyone is perfect so you will mess up but that doesn't mean you should give up. similar to me, when I was studying for a math test I got answers wrong on the study guide but I didn't just say "I don't care' and gave up I fixed my mistakes and realize what I did wrong and by doing that I ended up getting the questions I got wrong on the study guide correct on the quiz. but Im not saying that it will only take a second time to fix your mistakes it might take a couple of try's before you fix it. henry ford might have taken a lot of chances before accomplishing things in life. Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this means that a mistake is a life lesson that should be taken into consideration and should help you make better choices in life whether it comes to grades or anything in life.
ReplyDeleteI think Kayla did a every good job on this because she explained how she got better by not giving up. She put in the extra time to make it right and to know she knows what she is learning. Life is all about messing up and we learn from them. I like when Kayla says "I think this means that a mistake is a life lesson that should be taken into consideration...." which it should and a good point to everyone because it relates to us as a class because we should put the extra step into out work.
DeleteHenry Ford once greatly said "Failure is simpley the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." What I think this quote really means is that for every time you fail it gives you a chance to try again. I also think it means that it means that if you fail you have a chance to learn from your mistakes and try to get a different better result. An example from my life of this would be found in mathematics when im doing my homework I alway try and do the question correctly and if I make a mistake I can learn what that mistake was and try to fix it. Also, another example of this from my life would be If I am trying to learn something new like a recipe that I have never tried before and I mess up the recipe by cooking it wrong or some sort of thing like using too much of one seasoning. I would reread the recipe and change what I did and see if I can make the ricipe better. So in order to ensure that you do you very much best you should listen to Henry Ford and every time you fail at something you should pick your self up and make changes to the mistake you made and try to do better than you did the first time you did what you did before.
ReplyDeleteI think Alex did a good job with this essay! He made some good points when Alex talked about the example of math homework and how he can to better next time. I think he took a good amount of time on this and he did his best at explaining the quote. I also like the example of a recipe!
DeleteAlex used good examples that relate to the quote well along with some explanation to enhance it further. Using more than one example really helps with your opinion so people have more to go off of so more people would agree with the opinion.
DeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." I think this means if you fail try again until you do it right and you'll be more smart after you do it right the next time or the time after that. I also think it means you have to encourage yourself if you do actually want to succeed or nothing will happen. You have to believe in yourself to accomplish anything you want to if you don't nothing will go your way. This relates to an experience in my life when I was in elementary school I couldn't shoot a basket in basket ball but I never gave up and know I am really good at basket ball. Another experience is when I was younger I was really shy so I didn't have that many friends when I lived in New York but, I kept trying to talk to people and get over my shyness so I did and know I talk to much and some times I talk way to much and I get in trouble a lot for talking.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jess. You have to practice a lot to get good at something. You can't keep making the same mistake. You have to learn from them. You have to get better at something and not make the same mistakes you did before.
DeleteHenry Ford once said “ failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” I think Henry ford is trying to say that if you try something and it fails you can go back and try again with twice the knowledge. you now have twice the knowledge because you already attempted it once and saw what you did wrong and how to fix that mistake. Knowing how to fix a mistake already gets you half way there. An example of this quote in my life is when i first learned how to ride a bike. the first time i got on i did pretty good until i had to turn the corner and hit the breaks, but I fell right after i turned. The second time i had an advantage because I already knew how to turn and how to hit the breaks, therefore i made it around the corner.
ReplyDeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity t begin again, this time more intelligently."What this quote means to me is that if you at first do not accomplish something try and try again until you finally succeed. But every time you try again learn from your past mistakes. Don't just run into the wall hundreds of times go around it next time.
ReplyDeleteA way I can relate this quote to my life is that in sports you don't make the mistake a whole bunch of times. You find out whats going wrong and you fix it. then you try again. You don't give up and turn away from the challenge. you correct everything and improve yourself. This is what i thing Henry Ford meant when he said"Failure is simpley the opportunity t begin again, this time more intelligently."
next one is the redo
DeleteHenry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."What this quote means to me this quote means that When you try to do something but do not achieve your ultimate end goal don't give up on your goal. Use the wisdom you've gained from your last attempt. If you run into a wall the first run, then next time around avoid it and get closer to your final objective. Don't make the same mistake over and over. You must learn and improve yourself.
ReplyDeleteAn example of a way I can relate this quote to my life is through sports. When you participate in any sport you have trial and error. You fail and learn from that failure. If you strike out you don't strike out next time. You look over whats happening and what happened. Then you fix your mistake and end off better off for it. If your playing basketball you miss all your shots. Then you go home practice and fix your problems. In sports you can’t make a mistake over and over again. You must learn from your past problems and improve yourself by looking at them and seeing what you've done wrong.Learning from your past mistakes is what I think that Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."
Henry Ford once said "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." This quote is so very true. To me it means that you wont always succeed in what you do. If you dont succeed then you can see what you did wrong. Once you look over what you did you can learn off of it and make it even better the next time. Each time you fail you can just simply look at what you did wrong and learn off of it. Eventually you will get it correct and succeed. Failure is the greatest opportunity for learning. This has happened to me many times. I used to suck at fishing. I used to not catch anything when I was with people or just by myself. Each time I would try and learn more and new ways to hook the bait and how to cast it and what weights to put on it. I would gradually get better as time went on. Whenever I was with my dad he would help me a lot. He taught me ways to tie the string to make it tighter and what fish took what kind of bait. As time went on I learned more and more no matter how bad i failed each time. You shouldn’t feel bad when you fail something, its just a way for you to improve on what you do.
