Dr. Suess once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter"
That do you think this quote means? How does it relate to an experience in your own life?
Dr. Suess once said: “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.” In my opinion, this quote means that be yourself and say what’s on your mind because the people who care about you agree on what you are trying to say and would accept you on who you are, but the people who could care less about you would spread rumors and disagree on what you say and who you are. For example, if I were to see a person and stereotype them on what they are wearing or how they are expressing themselves, I would judge them on how they are not like me or anyone else. Or if I got to know that person, I would care less about what they are wearing or what they look like, as long as they are their own person. And if a person is saying something in their belief, don’t say anything mean to them and spread rumors on what that person said and change it. Just simply agree with the person and go on with your lives.
ReplyDeleteThis quote has an experience in my life because I act like myself and I say what I feel. Many people judge me on how I look and what I say. But that doesn't mean I should listen to those people. If I don’t judge them on their appearance or what they say, why should they judge me then? In conclusion, this quote had a role in my life and that is what the quote means in my stand point.
Vinny, I agree with what you are saying. To our opinion, this quote means that you should stay you and the people who accept you for you matter and care. The people who don't care what you say, don't matter, it shouldn't bother you. There could be many definitions of this quote, but i think yours is the most accurate. That is why I agree with your opinion of the definition of this quote.
DeleteVinny I also agree with what your saying. You should never change for someone else be yourself and if people don't like u then that's their problem not yours. And you should always speak your mind who cares what others say it's an opinion. That's why I also agree with what you said.
DeleteI also agree the quote means to say what you want to notice the people who care and the people who couldnt care less.I also feel Its important to not to stereotype anyone on their physical appearance. Its a good quality to be your own person and to decide if you like another person by their personality not the way they look. I also agree that if another person finds the need to judge another person by what they say and how they express themselves you shouldnt listen. People shouldnt care about the opinions of others and they should only care what they think of themselves.
DeleteI think that was a great response Vinny. and i totally agree with what you said. Many people just have to keep there mouths shut and deal with how people are. Even though i some time am that stereotyper that is always thinking about how people look or dress, and i am stopping that habit. People should be free to dress and speak as they wish and most people don't understand that. In conclusion people should mind their own business and complain in there heads.
DeleteAs a wise man once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those you mind don't matter." The wise man who did say this is Dr. Suess, I really love this quote a lot! I would like to tell you what I think this quote means!
ReplyDeleteTo start off with, I think that when you care about someone and that person cares about you, it shouldn't matter if you do something stupid in front of them or don't look your best, because if they were really your friend it wouldn't matter! So, if you could be your complete self in front of someone and they don't mind that is a true friend and someone who actually cares about your feelings! Now, if the person does care they aren't a real friend to you at all.
Moving on, this quote means a lot to me and I can relate to it in many ways! But for one I have a best friend Selene and we do the funniest, silliest, and craziest things around each other, and we don't do anything but laugh about it! I can do the most stupid things about her and I know she'll still have my back no matter. Selene matters to me and she doesn't mind! Then, I used to have a friend the complete opposite of Selene and I always felt like she had something to say to me or just thought I was a complete weirdo, and now i know, she doesn't matter! This is what this quote by Dr. Suess " Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those you mind don't mater", means to me and how I can relate to it!
Martha, I totally agree on what you are saying. I like how you said that when you act in a certain way around someone who cares about you, they would not care no matter what. That my friend is a great friendship! I also agree on how you described how a true friend doesn't care on how a person looks like. As long as you are being your own person, they will accept you on who you are. That's why I agree to what you are saying
DeleteWhen Dr. Suess said “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter” I think he was referring to your real friends. It means that your real friends and the people that care about you care about what you say and how you feel unlike those who don’t. He tells us not to care about other people’s opinions about ourselves because the only opinion that we should care about is our own and people who you can rely on. I think this quote appears a lot in every ones lives because we all care at one point what other people say and think about us. Its plays a role in my life as well because most of the time I care about what others think of me, but I mostly care about the opinions of others who play a big role in my life. For example, if you needed to talk to someone, you would pick someone you know wouldn’t judge you and can understand. You wouldn’t choose someone who doesn’t care how you feel and will not try to help you in any way. I think what Dr. Suess was say is that it’s important to have good friends and to be your own individual.
ReplyDeleteNikki, I completely agree to what you are saying in your writing. You have to be a great friend to expect it back. I completely agree when you said that Dr.Suess says that ii's important to have good friends and be your own individual that's completely true and I love how you put that in their it makes a great point! I loved your writing you explained everything out the way it's supposed to in an orderly manner! Good job!
DeleteNikki, I also agree with what you wrote! I think you gave awesome examples, and I can relate to basically everything you wrote! You explained every little piece of this quote, I understand it even more now that I read you response. I love that you wrote how it effects everyone's life, because I think it does to! Everyone cares what people think and how they feel about you but you shouldn't care how they feel if they don't matter! So good job with this writing!
Deletewow, I think that this response was right on. I think that this is dead on of what dr. suess was trying to say when he quoted that. All friend should be like that and if there not I don't think that they should be your friend. if your "friend" is jut going to use you I don't think that its right. so yeah I agree with everything you said here.

ReplyDeleteI feel what Dr. Suess is trying to say is be yourself around other people because,if you don't act yourself around other people you will not know if they would like you for you but, instead they are going to like you for the way that you act or they will just make fun of you because of how you're acting.I used to act different because, I wanted to fit in with a group of kids that i thought were my friends but when I tried acting myself after a while i got made fun of so you should just act yourself from the beginning instead of acting different then acting yourself. Also, when he said say how you feel to me I felt that he meant speak your mind. You shouldn't keep an idea in or how you feel bottled up,you should speak what you have on your mind or how you feel. when he said people who matter but don,t mind i think he means true friends instead of those other so called friends. My mom once told me that i can have many friends but I should always know who my real friends really are.You can always have friends but just realize who actually caresabout you and that's there for you.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the quote, "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don’t matter", means that the people who will love you no matter what, matter. Yet the people who don’t care who you say don’t matter. If people don’t care about you, why should you care? This quote relates to events in everyone’s life, even mine. This quote reminds me when someone makes fun of me for any reason, I ignore it. They don’t care, they don’t matter. Those who stand by me no matter what like friends and family diffidently matter to me. Or when someone picks on my friend, I’m there to help, I matter, and the one picking on him doesn’t. This quote can relate to everyone, whether it’s you, a celebrity, a friend, or a family member. If someone doesn’t care about what you have to say, ignore them. Those who are on your side and will stick with you no matter what; you should care for them, because they do matter. I think Dr. Seuss knew what he was talking about when he said this. Just remember that people that don’t care don’t matter. People, who do care, do matter. That is what this quote means, and how it relates to my life and many’ around me.
ReplyDeleteDr. Suess once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" What I think the quote means is that only your true friends will be there for you when you need someone to lean on. Or when you need help with a family matter, relationship or whatever is causing a problem in your life. Real and true friends are supposed to be their for you whenever you need them at any part of the day any hour they should be their for you! I’ve had a personal experience with this quote and that was when my uncle died when I was like 9 years old. I had one friend that I thought was my only true friend but I was completely wrong. She ended up not being their for me during that hard lost to my family. She just didn’t care anymore and that's when I noticed that the friends that I never paid much attention too are the friends that I still have to this day. This quote means to me that eventually you will figure out who your true friends are. Sometimes some people figure it out sooner than others but some people take more time and that's okay. I really like this quote a lot you have many things that can relate to it and its just perfect!
ReplyDelete"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter"- Dr. Suess. This quote means that you can have any point of view on something and your true friends won’t judge you on it. The ones who do judge you aren’t really your true friends. Those that matter in your life will respect what you have to say and even back you up on your opinions. What this is saying is you should always speak your mind and be yourself no matter what people say to you. This quote is very relatable to myself. I once had a friend who always used to make snide comments or make fun of what I said around other people. I was always respectful to him, never made jokes on his point of views. So I just stopped talking to him one day because I came to the conclusion that he wasn’t a real friend. He was just a jerk, now that kid barely talks to anyone now because the way he disrespected people. This relates to the quote by how he minded what everyone had to say now he doesn’t matter to anyone. The lesson of this quote is to be respectful but also be yourself.
ReplyDeleteDr. Suess once said “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.” This quote is 100% true in our world. This can mean many things to people that don't have any idea what that means, But i my thought of this quote is that if you are loved than you will mind how you feel. People that matter don’t really mind what you think. i think that there is still more to this quote that i just don’t know yet, But later on in life i will soon find out.
ReplyDeleteThis quote can relate to my life or already has related to my life in many ways. If i go a bad grade on a test and i was failing in that class, i would feel upset because i want to do very good in school this year and do all my work. My parent would help me study for next test or quiz and not yell at me. They would just say do better next time and help me study. I like that because i think that is what helps me do better on my next tests and quizzes even if its not one of those i still do better i think. Thats how i can relate.
Dr. Seuss once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter,” which means that you shouldn't feel bad about what you said, how you dress, or anything, you should just be who you are and not like everyone else. i tend to dress and speak as i want to. I don't sag like all the hipsters, i don't wear snapbacks above my hairline, i dont wear skinny jeans, so you get the point, don't follow others. It really disturbs me to see that people change so much. for example, when i first met this kid in seventh grade in mr. grossman’s class, he was like me, independent, did not follow anyone, but look at him now. Everyone changes but when you change don't copy any one to fit in, or get that girl to go out with you, just be yourself. I experience this in my own life because the same thing that happened with that first kid happened with my step brother. I honestly miss them too when i first met them they were independent and now they are followers. In conclusion, people just need to stop being followers and just be who they really are.
